NDI works with each of its clients to identify and select the most appropriate, cost-effective and geographically appropriate providers available.

NDI has relationships with over 15,000 preferred providers including laboratory patient service centers, occupational and urgent care medical facilities, individual and group medical practices, hospitals and other qualified medical organizations that specialize in occupational medicine services. NDI employs its buying power to negotiate with these providers rates that are almost always lower than those paid by clients prior to affiliation with NDI.

NDI coordinates services via the Preferred Provider Network (PPN) whenever possible to ensure the consistency and quality of services on local, regional and national levels. PPN enables NDI to pass on its preferred rates to clients who would normally pay more for the same services if contracted individually.

Providers must complete a formal review of all necessary certification and relevant documentation before gaining acceptance into PPN. Upon approving a partner, NDI obtains copies of all required training certifications and any other necessary documentation to support its service capabilities. NDI maintains all provider information in a database and stores all documentation in its filing system.

"When we discovered we had a substance abuse problem we approached NDI to develop a testing program for our distribution center. During the first 6 months of their program, we had a significant decrease in forklift accidents and a 25% reduction in workman's compensation claims. 8 months later we asked NDI to implement an additional pre-employment substance abuse program. NDI advised us to add a 120-day probationary period for all new hires. It's been a tremendous success. Our turnover declined from 70% to 40% annually and accidents and thefts declined significantly."
