Urine testing - There are several testing methodologies used to assess substance abuse. The most common testing methodology to assess substance abuse is an analysis of a urine specimen. Urine testing can identify the presence of drugs from 2 to 30 days after use depending on the drug used and the frequency of use.
Hair testing - Hair testing is the most effective method of analysis when assessing history of drug use. Hair sampling can detect drug use for at least 30 and up to 90 days and does not indicate level of impairment at the time of collection. Like urine sampling, hair sampling is not particularly invasive-however the analysis can be much more expensive than traditional urine testing.
Oral fluid - Oral fluid drug screening is gaining popularity due to the ease of specimen collection, lack of opportunity for adulteration, and it's comparability with traditional urine testing accuracy and turn around time.
On-site - The ease and efficiency of on-site drug screening devices makes them appealing to employers testing Non-DOT employees. NDI strategically partners with a manufacturer of a FDA approved non-instrumented on-site drug-screening device with an accuracy ratio in excess of 99%. Incorporating a highly accurate testing system with review by a certified MRO provides the highest level of accuracy and defensibility possible for on-site testing while achieving the fastest turn around time available.
Alcohol testing services - NDI has knowledge of DOT regulations to better assist our clients in developing their alcohol testing programs. Our programs are designed to ensure compliance with the DOT Alcohol Testing Regulations and to smoothly and efficiently operate within specific client requirements.
"In 1993, NDI helped us establish a substance abuse testing program for our DOT-regulated employees. Six years later they introduced random testing among our non-DOT employees. Thanks to this program we significantly reduced theft and workers compensation claims. When we added pre-employment substance abuse screening we saw additional reductions in workers compensation claims and thefts. Now all of our stores have a random substance abuse testing program in place and it has paid great dividends."
