Creating Program Efficiencies

Prior to engaging NDI, each ABC Trucking location ran its own program and reported results to the headquarters which had to rely on the efficacy of these reports. Due to this, ABC Trucking had many drivers on the road who either had positive results or had no record of a drug test at all. Neither this pre-employment component of the program nor the random testing program was up to standards. When audited by the DOT most locations failed miserably.

Once ABC Trucking selected NDI to help manage their programs, their program improved dramatically.

NDI enabled ABC Trucking to maintain reporting, customer service, record keeping and management entity in a central office. NDI also helped the client identify and test those drivers who had not completed a drug test. They also assisted in finding previous drug and alcohol information on many current drivers leading to the dismissal of positive drivers. NDI also instituted a more formable reporting structure by concurrently reporting results to the locations as well as headquarters and informing headquarters first of any positive tests. NDI also developed a new random program structure in which the corporate office sends NDI a monthly listing of all regulated employees. NDI then pulls selections and reports to the locations as well as supplying headquarters with a complete listing.

The results are significant. Due to this more formalized program ABC Trucking locations have had much more favorable DOT audits and have improved the overall quality of their drivers.
