NDI maintains numerous industry relationships and has access to insightful data and information. We also manage a library of in-house reference sources, available to staff and clients.

The Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association's (SAPAA) mission is to establish, promote, and communicate the highest standards of quality, integrity, and professionalism in the administration of workplace substance abuse prevention programs through education, training and the exchange of ideas. NDI has been a member of SAPAA since 1996.

The Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA) was founded in 1995 as the National Association of Collection Sites, and has grown to represent over 1,000 members. DATIA now represents the entire spectrum of drug and alcohol service providers including collection sites, laboratories, consortiums/TPAs, MROs, and testing equipment manufacturers. NDI has been a member since 1996.

SAMHSA is the Federal agency charged with improving the quality and availability of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitative services in order to reduce illness, death, disability, and cost to society resulting from substance abuse and mental illnesses.

NIDA was established in 1974, and in October 1992 it became part of the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services. The Institute is organized into divisions and offices, each of which plays an important role in programs of drug abuse research.

The U.S. Department of Transportation site covers issues related to federally mandated testing requirements and many other related subjects pertaining to safety and regulations for employers that must abide by federal codes. All DOT modes (including FAA, FMCSA, FRA, RSPA, USCG) can be reached from this link.

"Our NDI relationship began with a call to their 24-hour post-accident hotline following an accident by one of our drivers. NDI agreed to provide us with emergency substance abuse testing and follow-up. A month later, we engaged NDI to implement a full employee substance abuse testing program for all our DOT regulated workers."

We were so pleased with the results that within six months we added a substance abuse program for our non-DOT regulated workers who fill our tank haulers. Within the first year, our non-regulated portion of the business reduced the number of accidents by 30%. We also discovered that 65% of our original "filling" employees were using drugs which led to an overhaul of our employee base.
